Road Trip - Palm Springs

Just got back from a quick getaway to Palm Springs - a surprise birthday weekend for my hubbie. I must really love my husband to endure a weekend in the desert! I'm known to get ill inland and dread being land-locked, but to be honest, I've always been curious about Palm Springs. The image in my head is the cool, laid-back Rat Pack vibe of the mid 60's, lounging poolside with a cocktail - a true designer's inspiration. The trip was a success in that I didn't get ill inland and I came back chock full of ideas for Spring 2009. I've already fittingly named my first Spring group (in stores January '09) 'Palm Springs.' The new palette of bamboo spacedye colors will evoke the mid-century oasis of Palm Springs in its hay-day - color names will include Neutra, Eames, Pucci, Lilly (as in Lilly Pulitzer; I know she's more Palm Beach, but her preppy palette fits right in in Palm Springs), Rancho, and Palmas. My inspiration draws on the mid-century architecture that Palm Springs is famous for and what a gal would be wearing if she were lounging poolside at one of these grand indoor/outdoor living spaces. I'm promising lots of color - pops of multi-color hues (think Spacedye Pucci), preppy mixes of pinks and greens (Lilly gone Spacedye), and earthy yet vibrant hues of the desert (oranges, sky blues, citrus greens.) The ideas are just oozing out of my head. Gotta go sketch! Stay tuned for more Spring 2009 inspiration...

Recharging self mode?? yeahyeahyeah..today is all about recharging my self..you know..just like recharging your cellphone..today is really about having new spirit..there were 2 things that did recharge me today..check out my lil bit story of the day..

This morning, I started my day with going to church..I actually always get happy when this moment come..hoho..and then in the afternoon,i had another "quality time" with my culinary crew (what a call!! hoho..) which including Deste,Moniq & Manda.. We're going to PVJ (Paris Van Java a.k.a the best mall in Bandung) in order to watch French Movie Festival ..as always of course we're not only watching movie, but we were also having some window shopping, then we ate some donuts at J.Co, and after all, since the movie was going to start soon, we bought some snacks as quickly as possible..hoho..mmm..all i can say is we did really enjoy our another "quality time"..just missing Cynthia and Cita..next time maybe???...
Anyway, after took some pictures, we decided to get some food outside the mall, our chosen went to Warung SS (thanks for Ditha for recommended this place!!)..but while we're heading to parking lot, we were stopping by at a store called Maha Nagari..(hello mba Retta!!) because it has super duper interesting t-shirt, what's so interesting about the t-shirt?? one thing that written on the t-shirt was each of us favorite..hoho..check out these pics..

GO GeDeBaGe!!!!! No other place in Bandung can compare to you!!!!...We heart you so badly!!!

Well, Here is some pics that we've taken..Actually there are still alot more than these, i don't think those all will fit here..hoho:

''Sunny Day'' >> diTha

hi.. i bought this dress yesterday with my mom..its just a simple dress with black and white stripes..i think its a perfect dress for such a hot day like today! wear it with a vintage bag and gladiator,,or you can wear it with flat shoes..
i bought this sunglasses for only 2 pounds at primark London, its too big for me, but i don't really care..hohohoho

price list :
-vintage sunglasses : primark london, 2 pounds
-red scarf : borrowed from mom
-stripe dress : body&soul, Rp 130000 ($ 14)
-vintage bag : primark, 3 pounds
-red gladiator : mitchybell

''Size does matter'' >> diTha

hello...me again! hoho..
i bought this faded jeans together with Heidy and we both think that faded jeans rules!! we found them at pasar gedebage..actually they were too big for us but we had it repaired in our tailor right away so they fit us perfectly..but the problem is, the jeans is too tight, really really stick to your feet, skinny, and they really reveal the shape of your feet..to all the girls with small nice thighs, you're soooo lucky!! i have a problem with my hip and thigh,,they're big, so if i wear this jeans with a waisted-long shirt, you will see me like a big spoon walking! so i have to wear it with something longer in order to cover all those things.. luckily, i have this superdupercool white shirt, it's see-trough, very light, and it makes you look cleaner, and its long enough to cover my hip!
few years ago, we didn't have this kind of problem because we were still wearing those baggy, flare, boot cut or whatever you named it..but now, if you have the same problem with me, my suggestion is wear it with something long and light,,just don't push yourself too hard and try to still matching it with short shirt..so sorry to say, but it won't look nice..hope it helps!
Price List :
-vintage sunglasses : Zara
-necklaces : Forever 21 Rp 80000 each ($ 9)
-white shirt : Zara
-Faded jeans : pasar gedebage Rp 25000 ($ 3),
-jeans repairation cost Rp 10000 ( about $1.5)
-red gladiator : mitchybell
-gold bangle : demoda fatmawati
-black Givenchy bag : borrowed from mom

''Flower Bouquet'' >> diTha

nowadays, a flower dress is kinda easy to find..departement store, mom's old clothes, flea market, branded boutique, garage sale, anywhere! i bought this dress at pasar gedebage about a year ago, i forgot the exact price but i think its around Rp. 15000 ($ 2)..when i first wearing this dress, it looked awful.. it's not as pretty as i imagined before, because it loosing the curves of your body, made me look hundred years older, so dull, and just a boring dress..
so i decided to make a green obi..just to give it curves, and i really like how it turned out..
so, if you have a dress thats too big or make you look fat, try to wear it with obi..you can have it made in a tailor, you can make it at any size you like, and its not expensive.. check out your closet, girl, or maybe your mom's closet, hope you'll find something that you can work out with obi..

Price list:
-vintage sunglasses : Zara
-dress : pasar gedebage
-gold wallet : Ted Baker, price by request
-gold bangles : demoda fatmawati, Rp 30000 ($ 3)
-gold sandals : vnc, borrowed from mom

to all fashion addict . . .

Hi y'all..
this is our new blog, and we would like to introduce our daily style..

we are two different person with different character and, of course, different sense of fashion!!

In our opinion, fashion doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg, because ''fashion is not what you wear, but how you wear it''...

and also, one thing for sure, it has to be wearable but out of ordinaries..

hope you'll like it and enjoy our blog!

ciao!

Stacia Trunk Show at Christie's Boutique

Just got back from a fabulous weekend getaway to sunny San Diego. My excuse for the weekend jaunt was for my very first trunk show. So I filled up my trunk of goodies - lots of colors and styles that my customers have never seen - and drove on down the coast to Christie's at 928 Fort Stockton Drive in Mission Hill. I've been selling to this little gem of a boutique ever since they opened in 2005. Tucked away in a charming neighborhood catering to the well-to-do, fashion-savvy Moms of Mission Hill. These are real women who work, play, and raise a family, and all in high heels. The shop girls, Christie, Kat, and Courtney, were great - talk about knowing their fashion and knowing their customer! These girls rock! I swear every single woman that walked into their store, they knew them on a first name basis and what they last purchased. Luckily the majority of these women are fans of Stacia knits and were tickled to meet "moi" and talk shop. Boy, do I miss my retail days at Stacia New York! I forgot how fun it is to interact with your customers, play around with displays, and dress up the women who venture in the dressing rooms. The owner, Christie and her top gal, Kat, were donning their best Stacia too - looking fabulous in their Santa Cruz and La Jolla crochet dresses. And the store was decked out in Stacia with great displays and racks of spacedye - it was like a Stacia shop within a shop. Everything in the boutique was 20% off for the day and if you spent over $250 on Stacia, you received one of our spacedye long skinny scarves in either Lotus, Petunia, or Camilia - what a steal! We had a great day with lots of traffic and lots of happy customers leaving with bags stocked with Stacia. Thank you to Christie, Kat, and Courtney for the wonderful support and opportunity, and to all the Mission Hill women who continue to look fabulous in their Stacia knits!

Khloe Kardashian Event in Vegas

Indulge a little and check out the Vegas launch party for Dash, Khloe Kardashian's chic Calabasas boutique, on Friday, April 11th. Yours truly is providing the goodie bags for this bash being held at the Body English nightclub at The Hard Rock in Vegas.

The E! reality stars, the fun-loving Kardashian clan, are both stylish on and off screen. Their fabulous Calabasas boutique, Dash, at 4774 Park Granada offers the best selection of LA and NY designer clothes we all crave (including Stacia!) A great star-studded boutique where you can either hope to catch a glimpse of the reality stars or at least aspire to dress like them. Fashionista's also flock to their adjoining kid's boutique, Smooch, for pint-size pizzazz for their stylish tots (Stacia baby hoodies have been spotted there!) FYI...Mom Kardashian, a.k.a Mrs.Bruce Jenner wore the Stacia signature vee dress in Morocco in last year's season finale of Keeping up with the Kardashian's on E!.

Unfortunately, the event is on my husband's birthday weekend and I'm planning a big surprise for him so I won't be able to attend (see future posts for the reveal!). But if you're looking for fun on the fly, jet down to Vegas for the weekend and check out the Dash bash. Free champagne for the gals before midnight and be sure to snag one of those goodie bags at the door to get your free Stacia!

Ria Ray Gallery

My good friend Ria Ray as finally opened her tropical hideaway to the public. Perfectly situated a stone's throw away from Santa Monica's trendy Montana Ave. at 734 12th Street. Her gallery and healing studio will now be an open door welcoming Montana Ave. strollers and the curious into her serene environment. All of her large and small scale paintings will be on display and available for purchase. In addition, smaller signature items, her famous mantra ties and her new luscious lip balm, Speak, are available for spontaneous purchases and gifts. And leave it to Ria to encompass it all - her healing work and consultation is still available by appointment only and now her husband, Jeremy Ray, brings us his unique style of personal one-on-one training - healing both the inside and outside of your self. So if the door is open, stop on by and take a look and lounge in the shade of banana trees and linger awhile...
