Chicago punk-rock quartet Fall Out Boy won the coveted "MTV2 Award" for "Sugar, We're Going Down" at last week's VMAs. The group beat out favorites The Bravery and My Chemical Romance. Fall Out Boy is quickly rising to fame after building a strong underground fan base with their peppy, guitar-driven rock tunes. Their album "From Under The Cork Tree" debuted in the Billboard top ten just because of their loyal following.

Showing off his thick eyeliner, handsome bass player Peter Wentz told me all about the fashion he was wearing for the event. "Style and fashion are important to us," he told Arjan backstage after the group's win. "I gave fifty dollars to a designer friend and he made this jacket. It is actually a waiter's jacket from a hotel inside out. You should check out his web site at clandestineindustries.com."

According to Wentz, the group's next single "Dance, Dance" will give people a good idea of the future direction for the band. "We want to sexify emo and pop punk music," he smiled. "And watch out for a little dance routine in the video. This video will be like the 'Thriller' for rock music."

Wentz still can't believe Fall Out Boy won over My Chemical Romance who he thinks really deserved it. But nonetheless he is extremely happy with his award. "I will be polishing this Moon Man until it dissapears," he laughed.
