How To Scrunch Hair:

If you have texture which is compatible with scrunching take the following steps to crump your way to natural waves:

* Use your favorite shampoo and rinse out conditioner. If you wish to enhance your natural texture consider using a texture enhancing product which helps define curls.

Note: For optimal scrunching avoid using shampoo or conditioners which soften hair or else scrunching will not hold and will quickly drop out.

* Rinse all shampoo and hair conditioners completely from the hair.

* Finish with a cool/cold water rinse which helps to seal in moisture, add shine and helps enhance the hair's ability to form curls and waves.

* Carefully squeeze out any excess water with your fingers. Never rub wet tresses. Use a combination of techniques which include squeezing out any excess water and blotting strands with a towel.

* Towel blot with a thick towel or one designed to speed dry your hair. It's best to wait to apply products to super wet strands since some of the product will drip off in the process.

* Apply hair styling products of choice to the middle and ends of your strands. Avoid applying product near the roots which may weigh them down except in the case of adding volume sprays.

* Don't be afraid to layer product to get the best look. You may wish to mix a defrizant product along with your styling product to add texture and block frizz at the same time.

* Once your hair has been properly prepared with desired styling products (gel, mousse, styling cream or similar), use both of your hands working side to side around your head scrunching individual sections of hair.

* You have the option to use a blow dryer or long finger diffuser to help set the scrunched sections. If you opt for using the long finger diffuser, be sure to use the low speed/cool setting on your blow dryer to avoid blowing out the newly formed texture. The key to successful long finger diffusing is letting your strands rest in the base of the diffuser bowl.

* Experiment with different sizes of hair to play with large or smaller crimped sections.

Carrot and Skin Color.
Carotene is one of the substances found in tanning pills, and it occurs naturally in carrots. Of most interest for its root, the carrot contains a substance called betacarotene that our body transforms into vitamin A. It's the skin's provitamin since it protects the skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays, while preparing the skin for tanning and accelerating the process.
For a better colour Drinking a small glass of carrot juice every day will put colour on your table and a healthy glow in your complexion.

Carrot face mask?
Grate a few carrots; choose deeply coloured ones since they contain more beta carotene.
Add a few drops of sweet almond extract or oil;
apply to the face; let work for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Health Tonic
If you're lacking energy and your batteries are low, have a juice tonic; put into your juicer:
2 carrots
2 apples
2 celery stalks

APPLE MASK FOR NORMAL SKIN
1 Apple, cored & quartered
2 T Honey
Drop the apple pieces into a food processor and chop. Add honey and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Pat the mixture onto your face with a light tapping motion, tapping until the honey feels tacky. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse.

BLEMISHED SKIN MASK
1 Tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 T Instant style oatmeal or old-fashioned rolled oats
Blend everything until just combined. Apply to skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on blemished areas: cheeks, forehead, or chin. If necessary, add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then scrub it off with a clean washcloth dipped in warm water.

Orange Mask
For this you need half a cup oatmeal, juice of half an orange, glycerine and a little egg white to make a paste.
Beat the egg white and then add the oatmeal and juice to it.The glycerine is to moisturise the skin. The egg white gets rid of wrinkles and the orange is just to feed the skin. With this mask, open pores and greasy complexions are miraculously rejuvenated.Normal skins can also be treated with these masks.

Different Types of Hair Color

Different Types of Hair Color

There are several different types of hair color. Be sure to read this section carefully.

Permanent Haircolor
Permanent is just what it means. This makes a 'permanent' change in the pigment of the hair shaft. It does not wash out!
It will fade in time, but cannot be simply removed to "bring back" your natural color. All hair that has been colored in this way has the natural color pigments irreversibly chemically altered.
It can be removed, leaving the "altered" hairshaft pigments, which can be "corrective colored" back close to the original color.
This is a job which should be left to the Pros Only! It can be one visit or many visits to the salon to try to correct a bad color job, it is expensive and is hard on the hair to varying degrees.

Single Process Color
Single Process Color Is The Only Permanent Color That Should Be Attempted By The Amateur!
Single process means that the color is lifted and deposited in one step.

Semi-Permanent
Semi-Permanent color is what it says it is, it can cover gray and go darker, but can not lighten. It lasts varying lengths of time depending on the product. Suitable for amateur colorists.

Warning: Double Process (bleaching and toning to the desired color) should never be attempted by a home hair colorist!. This is definitely a pro-only process.

Deposit Only Color
Deposit Only color can only "Deposit" color into the hair, there are many varieties on the market for the home user. These are very "User Friendly'' and usually condition and color in one step.
The very popular color "glazes or translucent" colors are among the easiest to start with to enhance your color. Most use a very low 3% peroxide to activate them . Some are capable of lifting or lightening one level.

Short Hairstyle tips

Short Hairstyle tips

How to Make Short Hair (Style) Sexy No matter how short your hair is, it's always fun to try new styles. For summer, you want ideas that are quick, easy to achieve, melt-proof and sexy. Get a haircut, even if it's just a trim. "You don't want to begin the summer with split ends," . Then, try out these styling ideas:

Short Hairstyle & Work with your curl. If you have texture or curl in your hair, it's beautiful, sexy and modern to play that up, says Lepine. Use gel or styling pomade to accentuate individual curls. Short and long pieces can be flipped upward. And one or two hairs around your face can be pin-curled and pulled off the face with small barrettes.
Give straight hair a lift. If you have a straight, chin-length bob, you can update the look by texturizing the front of it. Just add a volumizing product and tease the hair. Then lift it off the forehead and secure it with a pretty hair accessory, like a barrette with flowers. If you don't want an Elvis-like poof, you can get lift by simply adding a foam or volumizer to the roots of your hair, then softly teasing hair at the roots by gently pushing the ends of the hair towards the scalp with a brush. Finish by brushing over the hair with a flat brush. This little lift is soft and loose and looks naturally pretty.

Have fun with your bangs. If you have bangs, try pinning them to one side. (You may have to add gel or light hair spray first.) Or apply gel and let your bangs fall in pieces over your forehead. It lightens your look and ups the flirt factor.

Go natural.
Short African-American hair that hasn't been straightened is perfect for summer styling. "You can braid hair, bunch it in certain places, coil it, pin it, texturize it," . "Pinning short, natural hair with lots of small, beautiful hair accessories is good". The style can be playful or glamorous, depending on the pieces you choose.

Try a very short ponytail. It's sexy; it's sporty; it's feminine; it's fun. Use a covered elastic or a clip, and if your hair is very thick, apply hair spray or gel to help secure it. You can make the style even more fun by using baby claw clips or barrettes instead of regular barrettes to hold hair up on the sides. One trick: Your short hair will hold better if it's not squeaky clean. (There will also be fewer flyaways.)

Get highlights. Highlights look really chic and pretty on short hairstyles, especially if they're layered and messy, says Lepine. For short hair, highlights should be multidimensional, not all the same color, she notes. Two or three shades of blonde or light brown are best, with the lightest shade on the ends of hair. The blend of highlights makes hair look brighter, she says, and also ensures that roots will be less noticeable.

Hairstyling Tools

Hairstyling Tools: Tips and Tricks

When you look today at the sheer number of tools and appliances available today to assist you in styling your hair, it’s easy to get confused. What do I need? Will that work on my hair? What does THIS thing do? There are dozens of tools designed to help you curl, crimp, smooth and straighten your hair. Here are some basics on the tools available, what they’re best used for and some tips on how to use them:

Combs and Brushes: Many people still don’t understand the basic principles behind the different comb and brush types available. Here’s a quick primer: Wide-toothed Combs are designed to detangle and smooth out towel-dried hair. For best results, use a detangling spray or leave-in conditioner before combing out towel-dried hair. Smaller-toothed Combs are used for smoothing and finishing short or straight hairstyles.

For brushes, the idea is similar but there are more varieties: A Vented Brush has multiple rows of tines (widely-set) along a base with air holes or openings to allow air to circulate easily. Vented brushes are designed for use with blow-dryers to control the hair during the drying process. Round or Curved Brushes have rows of tines on a round or curved base and are designed for use in blow-dry styling to add soft curves to the styles.Paddle Brushes have rows of tines on a flat base and are used in blow-dry straightened styles to keep the hair smooth and flat. Bristled Brushes can have natural or synthetic bristles and are used for finishing and smoothing a style, or for distributing natural hair oils and massaging the scalp to maintain hair and scalp health.

And now, on the other standard tools in the hair styling arsenal:

Blow Dryer: Hand-held hair dryers have become a staple in hair care. These toolsare designed to use directed streams of heated air to dry the hair quickly. A good blow-dryer will come with both a concentrator and a diffuser attachment. The concentrator attachment is designed to further narrow the stream of air, and direct it better. It is used most often to bow-dry hair into straighter/smoother styles. The diffuser attachment is designed to soften the air stream and distribute the heated air for a gentler flow. The diffuser is used most often to dry curly hair without straightening the curl.

Tips:
Number 1:
When blow-drying the hair, ALWAYS use a good protective conditioner before hand.

Number 2: Direct the air stream along the hair shaft at an angle toward the ends of the hair. This minimizes the risk of the hot air roughing up the cuticle of the hair and leaves the finished style looking smoother.

Number 3: Keep the air stream moving and always hold the dryer at least 6-8 inches away from the hair. Most incidents of damaged hair from blow-dry styling come as a result of holding the hair in the heated air stream too long.

Hot Rollers: These tools use a combination of heat and/or moisture to change the curl pattern of the hair. Designed to be used on dry hair, hot rollers work by wrapping segments of hair around the heated tools, and leaving the tools in place until they cool. One factor that works as a plus for hot rollers is convenience. You can wrap your hair inhot rollers and then continue to get ready while they cool and “set”.

Finish dressing, apply your make-up, have breakfast, or do anything you need to while you let the rollers cool. Once cooled, remove the rollers and style your hair as desired.

Tips:Number 1: Always make sure the hair is wrapped smoothly and held securely in the rollers. Good tension in the roller ensures that you get the best curl result.

Number 2: A light misting of hairspray on the wrapped rollers will give a little extra hold and “lift” to the curled hairstyle.

Number 3: Make certain that your hair is completely dry before using the hot rollers and ALWAYS let the rollers cool COMPLETELY before removing them. Most of the incidents of poor results from using hot rollers come as a result of having still-damp hair before using the rollers, or from taking down the rollers before they have completely cooled. Remember heat and moisture will break the side bonds needed to change the curl pattern of the hair, but they don’t get reset into the new curl pattern until the hair is again cooled and dry.

Curling Irons/Flat Irons: Similar to hot rollers, curling irons and flat irons use heat(and in the case of curling irons, occasionally a little moisture) to change the curl patternof the hair. The main difference is that the curling iron lets you add curl in specific places(the flat iron let’s you straighten target sections of the hair). You can style your hair in a myriad of ways and then use the curling iron to add curlsonly where you want them, or use the flat iron to give a smooth sleek finish.Curling irons come in a variety of sizes from tiny, pencil-thin barrels for tight spirals, tolarge barrels for big soft curls. Similarly, flat irons come in varying widths to give finercontrol. Generally, the longer your hair is, the larger the curling iron you want to use. With flat irons, the larger the heating surfaces on the flat iron, the larger the segmentthat can be straightened will be.

Hairstyle Tips

How to Make a Bun

How to Make a Bun

1. Spritz hair with enough water to make the hair pliable.

2. Apply the gel of your choice through your hair. To get the "slick" look, use a gel marketed to athletes (such as Dep). This type of gel usually helps fight humidity and calms the frizzies, especially in curly hair.

3. Secure your hair in a ponytail using a ponytail holder. Position the ponytail about where you want the bun to lie.

4. Twist the tail. Guide the twist into a coil around the ponytail holder. For people with longer, thicker hair, bobby-pin the coil into place as you wind it around and around the ponytail holder. People with shorter, thinner hair can often get away with winding and twisting the coil first and then inserting bobby pins about 45 degrees apart from each other (think of your bun as a circle).

5. Make sure to secure the end of the ponytail to the bun with a bobby pin.

6. To continue with that sleek, pulled back look, you may opt to wrap a hairnet that matches your hair around the bun. This will keep any stray hairs in place and is especially crucial if you are putting your hair in a bun to go exercising (so it will not fall out of place). Secure the hairnet with more bobby pins.

7. Spritz the entire hair style with hairspray.

Skin Care for Diabetics

Skin Care for Diabetics

Diabetes can affect every part of the body, including the skin. As many as one third of people with diabetes will have a skin disorder caused or affected by diabetes at some time in their lives. In fact, such problems are sometimes the first sign that a person has diabetes. Luckily, most skin conditions can be prevented or easily treated if caught early.

Some of these problems are skin conditions anyone can have, but people with diabetes get more easily. These include bacterial infections, fungal infections, and itching. Other skin problems happen mostly or only to people with diabetes. These include diabetic dermopathy, necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum, diabetic blisters, and eruptive xanthomatosis.

Diabetes can hurt your skin in two ways:

*
If your blood glucose is high, your body loses fluid. With less fluid in your body, your skin can get dry. Dry skin can be itchy, causing you to scratch and make it sore. Also, dry skin can crack. Cracks allow germs to enter and cause infection. If your blood glucose is high, it feeds germs and makes infections worse. Skin can get dry on your legs, feet, elbows, and other places on your body.

*
Nerve damage can decrease the amount you sweat. Sweating helps keep your skin soft and moist. Decreased sweating in your feet and legs can cause dry skin.

Tips to take care of your skin:
There are several things you can do to head off skin problems:

*
Keep skin clean and dry. Check places where water can hide, such as under the arms, under the breasts, between the legs, and between the toes. Use talcum powder in areas where skin touches skin, such as armpits and groin.

*
Take good care of your feet. Check them every day for sores and cuts. Wear broad, flat shoes that fit well. Check your shoes for foreign objects before putting them on.

*
Avoid very hot baths and showers. If your skin is dry, don't use bubble baths. Moisturizing soaps may help. Afterward, use a standard skin lotion, but don't put lotions between toes. The extra moisture there can encourage fungus to grow.

*
Prevent dry skin. Scratching dry or itchy skin can open it up and allow infection to set in. Moisturize your skin to prevent chapping, especially in cold or windy weather. Also, drink lots of fluids, such as water, to keep your skin moist and healthy.

*
Wear all-cotton underwear. Cotton allows air to move around your body better.

*
Treat cuts right away. Wash minor cuts with soap and water. Do not use Mercurochrome antiseptic, alcohol, or iodine to clean skin because they are too harsh. Only use an antibiotic cream or ointment if your doctor says it's okay. Cover minor cuts with sterile gauze. See a doctor right away if you get a major cut, burn, or infection.

*
During cold, dry months, keep your home more humid. Bathe less during this weather, if possible.

*
Use mild shampoos. Do not use feminine hygiene sprays.

*
See a dermatologist (skin doctor) about skin problems if you are not able to solve them yourself.

Keeping your diabetes under control is the most important factor in preventing the skin problems associated with diabetes. Follow your health care provider's advice regarding nutrition, exercise, and medication. Keep your blood glucose level within the range recommended by your doctor. Proper skin care can also help reduce your risk of skin problems with diabetes.

Herbs for Sun Protection

Herbs for Sun Protection/as Sunscreen

Aloe Vera -- This ancient natural skin care herb protects the skin's immune cells against the damaging effects of the sun, according to research from the Department of Immunology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. Fresh aloe vera may be applied after any type of sun exposure. Its anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, emollient, and antimicrobial actions make it especially useful for preventing sunburn damage.

Green Tea -- Whether applied topically or consumed as a beverage or dietary supplement, green tea is a premiere skin protectant. It protects against direct damage to the cell and moderates inflammation, according to research from the Department of Dermatology, Columbia University, New York. Studies suggest that the catechins in green tea are some 20 times stronger in their antioxidant powers than even vitamin E. Men, women and children need to position this super shield on their side against the ravaging effects of the sun.

Sesame oil -- According to skin specialists, sesame oil decreases the impact of the sun's burning rays by about 30 percent, while olive, coconut and peanut oils and aloe vera block out about 20 percent of the rays. Research shows that a 3 to 6 percent dilution of an extract of Helichrysum, sometimes called immortelle, makes an effective sunscreen.

Carrot-seed essential oil is especially beneficial to sun-damaged skin and is even used to treat pre-cancerous skin conditions. The beta-carotene it contains has been proven to protect against ultraviolet-induced skin cancer.

Home made Natural Sunscreen

  • 2 ounces sesame oil
  • 2 ounces aloe vera gel
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • 24 drops lavender essential oil
Method: Combine ingredients. Shake well before using. Remember, this will not provide total sun protection.

Product buildup in hair

Product buildup in hair- what to do?

Most people have heard the old wives tale "that you should change your shampoo from time to time as it "builds up". This is not entirely untrue as some products (those with cheaper ingredients) do often leave a film on the surface of the hair and scalp that can build up over time. Then there is also the obvious over use of styling products!

The first signs of product build up are your hair looking or feeling lifeless, or when you comb or brush it you get a flaky powder along the hair shaft, this is not dandruff, its more likely to be a buildup problem.

Buildup occurs when:

* Certain products like non-water soluble waxes are used to style the hair.
* 2 in 1 shampoos are used continuously.
* Certain shampoos cause buildup due to the type of cheaper ingredients they use to give instant combability. These can form a film on the hair or you may have to use a large amount to make your hair feel clean also resulting in buildup.
* Hair sprays applied too close and in too strong a concentration to one area e.g. the fringe, leave a flaking powder on the hair after brushing.
* If gel is applied in a blob it cannot spread through the rest of the hair causing build-up on that spot. We sometimes find that wetting your hands before getting the gel out of the pot and mixing it can solve this problem.

To cure a build-up problem:

* Use a special purifying shampoo to remove previous products.
* Change your habits; apply spray further away from the hair approx. 15cm or 6", work gel around your wet hands before putting it through your hair.
* Try a water-soluble wax.
* Separate your 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner by getting a good old fashioned 2-step process.
* Use professional products, as the ingredient quality is where the money is spent not on expensive TV ad campaigns.
* As a general rule, use less than you think, resulting only in a shape that won't last as long. Too much will leave the hair sticky or heavy and hard to work with.
* When applying any product to hair always pop it onto your hands first then work it around them. This will spread the product so that as you put it into the hair you won't get patches of too much.
* A good tip from a hairdressing friend, is to use a dilution of bicarbonate of soda to rinse your hair and remove hair spray build up.

Hair Static solutions

Hair Static solutions
What to do when your hair becomes staticy?

Static is electrical charge that is unable to find "ground" and causes some real headaches and "flyaway" hair conditions. Simply spray hairspray onto your brush when you have finished blow-drying and brush it over the surface of your hair from roots to ends. This does not give that hairspray feel but does stop static.

Oh, and don't walk around rubbing the soles of your shoes on the carpet!

Hair coloring-before and after

Hair coloring -before and after tips

1. Before coloring:
  • Wash your hair. A good kind of shampoo to use is one that removes the pollutants of your hair. Do not condition and do not use a shampoo/conditioner mixtures available in single bottle. Conditioner will interfere with the dye bonding to your hair.
  • If your scalp is soft and sensitive or your hair damaged or dry, wait about a day after washing to bleach or use permanent dye.
2. While coloring:
  • Follow the mixing instructions exactly as given.
  • Use protective gloves and an old towel, especially when you are new to hair coloring.
  • To keep the dye off your skin, you could put creamy gel like Vaseline around your hairline and it's better don't get it in your hair though, or it will unnecessarily bother your hair coloring process.
3. After coloring:
  • To make your coloring to last longer, rinse your hair in lemon based solution immediately after dyeing. This raises the strength of the hair color.
  • Another tip is to add two spoons of hair color to your regular conditioner after each shampoo. Leave it on three to five minutes and rinse it with warm water. This replenishes the color that was washed out.

Hot Hairstyles

Quick Hot Hairstyles

We all go through it. From the yucky super-humid days when nothing we do with our hair will possibly look right to the rainy Mondays when we just don’t care, to the eve of our hot date when we go through eight hairstyles before opting to just let the hair run wild, sometimes a “bad hair day” can very easily become a “bad hair week” without fair warning. The weather may be rainy and humid all week long, the hairstylist may have chopped our locks entirely the wrong way, but despite our dismay, life does go on.

Check out the scenarios below for a quick fix on unruly hair, flat hair, whatever hair.

Scenario #1 – Business Boo-Boo Fixer Upper

It’s not even 8:30 in the morning and things couldn’t be much worse. You slept through your alarm and you’ve got a major business presentation in 35 minutes. After taking the fastest shower of your life, you’ve got five minutes to throw on your makeup and do something with your wet hair. Think fast!

Separate your hair into three sections, alternately pulling one over the other until you’ve created an attractive plait in no time! For a special feminine touch, leave out a tiny strand of hair at your crown, near your ear or at the nape of your neck. (To save time, turn your curling iron on prior to braiding your hair.) Whether it’s a first date with a new hottie or a special occasion with your long-term beau, looking like the gorgeous bombshell you are is nonnegotiable! But looking fabulous doesn’t have to take an eternity… Rely on a few quick and easy hair care tips to get you going.

For a seductive look, rely on a daring hairstyle that nicely displays a bare neck. Invite sweet kisses on your soft skin by sweeping your hair up into a makeshift French twist with a set of ornate chopsticks or a delicate, pretty hairpin. Even if your hair is still wet, it should be responsive to these facile styles. And while wearing hair up can be completely tantalizing, setting free your flowing locks might just ignite some wild desire in your date. Tame your tresses with a gentle anti-frizz product that won’t sticky your hair or leave a visible residue.
For naturally curly babes, rub some gel or a small amount of styling product between your hands and scrunch your curls into submission.

Scenario #3 – Tiresome Tresses Crave Revitalization

Sick of the same old ponytail? Tired of – yawn – everlasting straight hair? Mix things up a bit by adding some fancy accents to your inventory! Foot massage tips

Foot massage tips

Before actually massaging your partner's weary feet, take some deep breaths to relax yourself, Thompson says. Your own routine may vary according to your partner's tastes, but Thompson suggests the following steps:

* Apply pressure to your partner's foot, holding it with both hands along the sides and squeezing. Now rub the top of the foot and around the ankles.

* Next, rub along the sides of your partner's foot, applying pressure with the heel of your hand.

* Rub each toe between your thumb and first two fingers, "like you're rubbing a coin," Thompson says.

* Stand to one side. Now massage your partner's foot and work your way up the leg, using a motion that will rock the leg from side to side.

* Finally, lift your partner's leg six to eight inches and hold it in the air. Pull the leg toward you to stretch it.

* Repeat all steps for the other foot.

How long the process takes is up to you and your partner, but it's important to remember not to rush through it. You could spend as much as 20 minutes on each foot, if you wanted.

What is My Skin Type

What is My Skin Type

The Term "Skin Type" Refers to two things: how much sebum your skin produces, and where this sebum is most heavily produced. To find out your skins type, you can do the tissue test: Simply wash your face with a gentle cleanser, wait 15 to 30 minutes, and then hold a facial tissue against your face for 5 seconds.

Different skin types

If you have oily skin, you're probably aware of it already, but if you need confirmation, do the tissue test. Oily skin will cause obvious oil stains on most of the tissue. This type of skin is the result of too much sebum being produced. The constant flow of sebum stretches pores, so the skin may also have large pores. The complexion often looks shiny, and because excess sebum can mix with makeup and dirt to clog pores, oily skin is vulnerable to breakouts.

Normal skin is the ideal. It produces enough sebum to keep skin supple, but not so much that skin looks slick. If you have normal skin, the tissue test may produce light oil stains, but nothing more.

As we get older, our skin naturally produces less sebum, which is why more mature skin is so often dry. Yet young skin can also be dry if it doesn't produce enough oil to keep the epidermis moist. Depending on how dry the skin is, it may have a rough texture or be prone to flaking. And because not a lot of sebum travels through pores, the pores will probably be small. If you have dry skin, the tissue test will show no oily stains.

Quite a few of us have large pores and lots of oil around the nose, chin, and perhaps forehead. But we also have normal or dry skin under the eyes and on the cheeks. This is known as combination skin. If you have it, the tissue test will show oil stains in your oily areas, but will remain dry elsewhere. To treat combination skin, address the two zones separately, giving the oily bits the sebum-absorbing care they need, and moisturizing the dry or normal bits.

Foot Pampering

Foot Pampering Routine

For this routine you will need a foot scrub, foaming bath gel, a large foot bowl, 1 large and 2 small soft towels, a pumice stone and pedicure tools.

Step 1. Half fill a large bowl with warm water. Place the bowl on a large towel on the floor. Add a little foaming gel and perhaps a couple drops of essential oils. Swish the water around with your hand to create plenty of bubbles and to get release the aroma of essential oil. Now put both feet into the water, then sit back and relax as you soak them for 5 minutes. After that remove your feet from the water bowl and rub on the floor towel to remove excess water.

Step 2. Put a small towel on the right knee and rest the left foot on top. Massage the foot scrub all over the sole, paying extra attention to any rough skin and rub into cuticles. Place your foot in a plastic bag and secure.

Step 3: Repeat the above 2 steps on the right foot. Wait for 10 minutes and them remove the bag from the feet. Dip both feet into the water. This will have cooled down, so it will stimulate the circulation.

Step 4: Remove your feet from the bowl. Place your left foot on the right knee. Take the pumice stone and rub over the sole. Use firm pressure on the heal and ball, and light pressure on the arch. Now rub the pumice stone all over the top of the foot using light pressure. This helps to improve the skin texture and bring nutrient-rich blood to the surface which will help improve the appearance. Repeat on the right foot.

Step 5: Trim the nails straight across and then smooth the edges with an emery board. Use a cotton bud to apply cuticle remover, wait for a few minutes and hen gently push the cuticle back with hoof stick. Soak the feet again and carefully clean under the nail. Now dry the feet and apply base coat, polish and top coat.

Problems For The Curly Haired
The biggest problem with curly hair is frizz. Curly hair that is over worked and over styled will frizz, and lack life. Also, curls can get out of control easily. It is important to use the right curly hair products to control these two problems.

Top Tips For Curly Hair
Rather than fighting with your curly hair, learn how to work with it to make yourself beautiful. With these curly hair tips, you can take care of any style through proper naturally curly hair care.

Choose The Right Products
One of the biggest mistakes that those with naturally curly hair make is not using the right curly hair products. You need to choose conditioners and shampoos that are specially formulated for curly hair. Regular conditioners will weigh down the hair, creating flat, lifeless curls. Regular shampoos often do not contain enough moisture to bring curls to life. There are a variety of curly hair products on the market today, and those with curly hair must use shampoo and conditioner designed for their hair type.

The same is true for moose, gel, or hair spray. Normal hair styling products will weigh down curly hair. This gives your hair a crunchy, fake look. This is not the best style for curly hair. Choose products that will control your curl, while letting your hair breathe and look alive.

Your Comb is Important
When combing curly hair, never comb it when it is dry. This will cause frizz and breakage of the hair. Also, avoid using combs or brushes that are narrow toothed. Instead, use a pick or a comb with wide teeth to brush through your curly hair. You may want to use a sealer before brushing to protect your hair from split ends.

Eye makeup tips

Applying Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow is perhaps the most beloved cosmetic of creative makeup artists. The most important trick to keep in mind is that the light colors highlight the spots while dark colors tame them down. The first step in applying the eyeshadow is to apply a neutral concealer that matches your skin tone on the eyelid and then sweep the lightest shade over the entire area from the lash line to the brow line to create the smudge resistant base. Apply the medium shade on the lower lid and blend it into your base shade. A third color can also be added along the lash line and outer corner of the eyes as an accent to create the depth in eyes. The other tips that you can use are:
  • Blondes with blue eyes should opt for browns and taupes while those with green eyes can go for soft mauves and lilacs.
  • Blue eyeshadow should only be worn only if you either have fair skin, black or platinum hair and brown or gray eyes or very dark skin.
  • Don't match your shadow with your eyes or your clothes so that attention remains with your eyes and not your makeup!
  • Emphasizing the inner corner of the eyes to make them look closer to each other. This can be done by applying a neutral base color over the whole eye and then dust a medium color on the inner half of the eyelid and blend it outward. You can then use eyeliner to line the lid from the inner corner of the eye to the middle and blend it outward.
  • For day makeup, base color and mascara are the only things you need to wear for eyes.
  • High quality powder eyeshadows can be used wet for heavier application by dampening your applicator a little.
  • Lighter shadows help the bigger while darker shades make them look smaller. For bigger eyes, sweep a light shade over lid and darker shade on the outer corner of the lid and the crease. Outline the eyes using the eyeliner on the outer side of upper and lower lids while tapering a bit on the outside the eye to elongate it. Dab a white or cream shadow in the middle of the brow bone as a last step.
  • Neutral shades like browns and beiges look natural while brighter shades like blue and green look dramatic and artificial.
  • On mature skin and puffy eyelids, avoid using iridescent, frosted, light colors and white eyeshadows and opt for soft matte colors instead.
  • Only use cream eyeshadows that do not cause creasing upon application and should be coordinated with powder shadows that are to be used on top of them. They should be applied using fingertips.
  • Sweep a light or medium-tone shade on the lid and slightly darker shade above the eye crease to downplay the brow bone. Eyeliner should be thick in the middle of the eye and tapering at both ends. Add light highlighter to brow bone.
  • To add definition to your eyelids, apply a medium-toned shade across the lid and brow bone and dust the under brow area with a light highlighter shade. Use a very fine pencil liner of natural color to line the upper and lower lash lines.
  • To glamorize eyes for night outs, add shimmer to highlight your eyes.
  • To lift up tired eyes extend the color from the outer corner of the lid upwards to give them a feline shape. A light highlighter on the brow bone without the eyeliner brightens up the eyes. Concentrate mascara on the inner corner of the eye.
  • To make them look wider apart, keep the inside corners of the eyes lighter than the outer edges. Apply concealer one shade lighter than your skin at the inner corner of the lids and the sides of your nose and blend it well. Use a matte medium to dark eyeshadow and stroke it outward and slightly upward from middle of the lid to its outer half. Use the eyeliner a bit in from the inner corner of the eye and make the line tapering up and out a bit past the outer corner of the eyes.
